Every patch listed below has now confirmed its 2026 dates. Most open from around 10 October, and Craigie’s is the only one open in the first week. One to watch – Loch Ness Pumpkins – is running on just three days this year — 17, 18 and 24 October — so book before you plan the drive. I check this page every week through October.

Cairnie Fruit Pumpkin Festival
Scotland’s original pick-your-own pumpkin producer, now in its 27th year, with over 20,000 pumpkins in every size, shape and colour. Pre-booked morning or afternoon slots, with tickets usually released in mid-September, and you pay for pumpkins by size. Under-3s go free. The Halloween Torchlight Maze also returns — six acres of maze in the dark with only a torch, recommended for over-8s. Dogs are welcome on the farm but not in the pumpkin patch.
Craigie's Farm Pumpkin Festival
The closest pumpkin patch to Edinburgh, twenty minutes from the city. Quiet picking runs from 1 to 9 October with no extra activities, just the patch and a calm autumn field, before the full festival takes over from the 10th with the Monster Bale Trail, a barrel ghost train, potion-making and an After Dark session. Tickets from £4 per person for quiet sessions and £7.50 otherwise, with pumpkins priced separately. Any-day tickets as well as set dates, an excellent farm shop and a proper cafe.
Loch Lomond Scary Trail & Pumpkin Patch
A brand-new story for 2026 — The Seven Spells of Glen Luss — with a bigger pumpkin patch on the bonnie banks. A family ticket for four (£38) includes two pumpkins to take home. Perfect for primary-age kids and gentle enough for the whole family.
Broadslap Fruit Farm Pumpkins
A working fruit farm just off the A9 between Perth and Auchterarder, midway between Dunning and the main road. Book a time slot online, pay for whatever you pick on the day, and stock up on potatoes, cabbage and other veg from the farm shop while you are there. Open 7 to 31 October 2026.
Clackmae Farm Pumpkin Patch
Over 5,000 pumpkins across more than seventy varieties, which is the widest choice anywhere in Scotland. A maize maze to lose the children in, photo opportunities throughout, and the option to stay for a pumpkin carving workshop in the barn afterwards. Open on selected dates between 7 and 31 October 2026.
Westerton Farm Pumpkin Events
Thirty-five minutes south of Aberdeen and now in its sixth year. Beat the bale maze, conquer the bale mountain, then stay to play in the barn, which has separate areas for under-4s and older children. Stallholders and farm activities alongside the picking. Open 9 to 25 October 2026.
Arnprior Farm Pumpkin Festival
Scotland’s busiest pumpkin patch, forty minutes from Glasgow. Three sessions a day plus after-school sessions to 30 October and an annual date night. What began in 2015 with 300 plants on a tenth of an acre now welcomes over 40,000 visitors each October across 16 acres and eight varieties. A kale maze, quad pods, chainsaw carving, a pumpkin cannon, food and craft stalls and a gin bar for the parents. Dog-friendly. Tickets are £14.90 per car with £5 redeemable against a pumpkin, and it sells out every year.
Ernespie Farm Pumpkin Patch
The Dumfries and Galloway option, at a working farm near Castle Douglas, and the only real choice in the south-west. Open 10 to 31 October 2026.
Ethiebeaton Farm Pumpkin Patch
Fifteen minutes from Dundee and a little over an hour from Aberdeen, with pumpkins in every shape and size, plenty of photo spots and food trucks on site. Open Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, then daily from Monday 12 to Sunday 18, and Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 October 2026.
M&D's Outdoor Pumpkin Festival
Scotland’s theme park runs a pumpkin festival alongside the rides, which makes it a different proposition from a farm patch — rides first, pumpkins after. Worth considering with a mix of ages, or teenagers who would rather be on a rollercoaster. Open on selected dates between 10 and 25 October 2026.
The Cawdor Patch
The Highlands’ destination pumpkin patch sits in the heritage village of Cawdor — six miles from Nairn, fourteen from Inverness, with easy access from the A96 and the A9. Acres of farm and woodland holding warty, black, stripy, spotty, yellow, green and white pumpkins as well as classic orange. The thing that sets it apart is the twilight sessions, when the paths are lit with candles and the pumpkins almost glow. New for this year are a Play Patch and a woodland trail, joining the bale mountain, the adventure play area, the highland coos, guest tractor appearances and seasonal treats served at the whisky barrels. Dogs are welcome. Entry then pumpkins priced individually, booked through TicketSource. Open on selected dates between 10 and 31 October 2026.
Whitsome East Newton Pumpkins
A Berwickshire farm patch with self-catering accommodation on site, so you can turn pumpkin picking into a Borders weekend. Open Saturday 10 and Sunday 18 October 2026 only.
Wynford Farm Park Halloween Spooktacular
Pick-your-own pumpkins as part of the farm park’s Halloween Spooktacular on the outskirts of Aberdeen, with spooky activities for children alongside. Open 10 to 25 October 2026.
Balgone Pumpkin Patch
Scotland’s largest pumpkin patch, spread across an eight-acre East Lothian estate. Alongside the picking there is a 2km haunted trail around the lake, the Crooked Cauldron for toasting marshmallows, and food and drink vans. Tickets are per car with pumpkins priced separately. Under an hour from Edinburgh and easy to combine with North Berwick beach. Open 16 to 18, 23 to 25 and 30 to 31 October 2026.
Davochfin Farm Pumpkin Patch
One of very few pumpkin patches this far north, just outside the lovely town of Dornoch. Three time slots a day booked online, and tickets sell fast because there is so little competition up here. Open 16 to 25 October 2026.
Fairy Woods at Fedderate Pumpkin Patch
The gentlest patch in Scotland and the one for little ones. Children choose between fairy hunting and orienteering, have campfire snacks, then explore the patch for a pumpkin and a goody bag to take home. Open Friday 16 to Sunday 25 October, plus Saturday 31 October 2026. It books up early.
Halloween Days at Conifox
The daytime, family-friendly half of Conifox’s Halloween — pumpkin trails, spooky crafts, costumes and the adventure park’s full run of outdoor play, with none of the scares. Grab a wheelbarrow for the patch, then meet Pumpkin Percy, Winnie the Witch and Warrick the Wizard before taking on the Witches’ Labyrinth. Fifteen minutes from Edinburgh.
Loch Ness Pumpkins at Corrimony Farm
The first and original Highland pumpkin patch, now in its seventh growing year and having welcomed over 40,000 visitors. Just up the road from Drumnadrochit, with a bale run, sunflower maze, pumpkin express train and a cafe, and breathtaking views across the Affric hills and Glenurquhart. Open on just three days in 2026 — Saturday 17, Sunday 18 and Saturday 24 October — so book early and plan the drive around it.

What you need to know before you go
Wear wellies, not trainers. Every farm that mentions footwear says the same thing, and an October field in Scotland is not a place for trainers. You will get muddy.
Most patches don’t open until around 10 October. Craigie’s and Cairnie open on the 1st; everywhere else you will be waiting until the second week.
Book as soon as you have picked one. Arnprior sells out every year, Davochfin goes fast because there is so little competition in the far north, and Loch Ness Pumpkins only runs for three days. Weekend slots go first everywhere.
Go early in the window for the best pumpkins, late for the best atmosphere. And check the exact dates — several farms open only on selected days rather than right through October.
Check what is actually included, because every farm prices it differently. Arnprior is per car with a £5 pumpkin credit built in. Craigie’s is per person with pumpkins extra. Cairnie charges entry and then by the size of the pumpkin. Balgone prices by weight, and the Loch Lomond family ticket includes two pumpkins. A £14.90 ticket that includes a pumpkin and a full farm of activities can be better value than a £4 one where you pay separately for everything.
Dogs vary. Arnprior and The Cawdor Patch are dog-friendly. Cairnie welcomes dogs on the farm but not in the pumpkin patch. Check each one before you travel.
