Love from Scotland is the travel blog of writer and photographer Kate Hopper. It is my independent guide to travelling Scotland sustainably – from where to stay and what to do, to the best regions, hidden gems and hiking routes across the country.
My experience
I moved to Scotland in 1996 and have spent nearly 30 years exploring every corner of this beautiful country. I’ve visited every place I write about on this site. Where I haven’t yet been, – a handful of smaller islands including Shetland and Bute – you won’t find content, because I only write about places I’ve personally experienced.
You might have seen me on BBC Scotland’s How to Road Trip in Scotland and my How to Bag a Munro film. My work has also been featured by Visit Scotland, The National Trust for Scotland and by tourism boards across the country.
How I create content
All written content, photography and videography on lovefromscotland.co.uk is original and produced by me, unless otherwise credited. I do not use AI to generate content, every guide is based on first-hand experience.
I use Adobe and other editing tools for photo editing, but what you see is what Scotland looks like. I’m just good at finding great weather.
All content is regularly reviewed and updated for accuracy. If you spot a factual error or broken link, please get in touch – I appreciate it.
Editorial independence
My editorial content is not influenced by advertisers. I do not accept paid posts that require specific keywords or text.
I work with tourism businesses from time to time. Where links are affiliate, or where a stay or experience was complimentary, I always disclose this. No disclosure? I paid for it myself. I do a lot of self-funded travel because I believe this site should be a genuine mix of sponsored and independent content.
I do not sell links to SEO marketers.
